If
the electrolyte level is low while the battery is
being used in normal conditions what shall I add?
|
| |
Just distilled water. |

If the specific
gravity of one or two cells is lower than the others
and the voltage is lower than 12 volts after charging
the battery, what's the problem?
|
| |
Two cells of the battery may be short circuited or 2
cells may be intercommunicating. |

When checking the battery, I
notice that the electrolyte in all the cells has
turned brown, the cell specific gravities are not
uniform and the voltages are irregular: what does
this mean?
|
| |
The battery may have been overcharged or it may be flat.
It may not have been faulty when it left the factory,
though. |

After charging
a battery, I perform a high current discharge test
with an Accutester or similar equipment to check whether
it is faulty or not. What does it mean if voltage
falls rapidly under 10 volts and intense gassing occurs
in a cell?
|
| |
The cell is short circuited. |

The plates are sulphated. |
